Microsoft released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27823 in the Canary Channel on March 26, 2025. Here's the list of new & improved features.
Announcement Details:
- Microsoft has released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 27823 to the Canary Channel.
- No SDKs for the 27xxx series builds will be released for now.
Changes and Improvements:
- General: Minor improvements and fixes enhance the overall user experience.
- Settings: Introduction of “top cards” in the About section to display key PC specifications (e.g., processor, RAM, storage, GPU). These cards simplify decision-making about hardware improvements.
Fixes:
- Addressed issues in several areas, including File Explorer, Input, Login and Lock screens, Settings, Printing, and more.
- Examples include fixing a blank File Explorer issue and crashes in Settings when interacting with Bluetooth & Devices > Cameras.
Known Issues:
- Users joining the Canary Channel on new Copilot+ PCs may lose access to Windows Hello PIN and biometrics temporarily.
- A visual bug causes a toggle in Windows Update settings to render incorrectly.
- Taskbar icons are not resizing correctly in tablet posture.
- Reminders for Canary Channel:
- Builds in this channel represent early development stages and may not match specific Windows releases.
- Some features may be removed, replaced, or not fully localized during active development.
- Insiders in the Canary Channel require a clean installation of Windows 11 to switch to a channel with lower build numbers.
