Google has introduced "nudges" in Google Drive to enhance user engagement with Gemini, its AI assistant. These prompts appear at the top of your Drive homepage and folders, offering quick access to Gemini's features. They include options to learn about Gemini, summarize folders, and gain insights into specific files.

To utilize Gemini in Google Drive, ensure that smart features and personalization are enabled. Administrators can activate these settings in the Admin console. The availability of specific nudges depends on your Drive content, so you might not see every option.

The rollout of these features began on March 24, 2025, for Rapid Release domains and is scheduled for April 24, 2025, for Scheduled Release domains. They are accessible to users with Google Workspace Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, Gemini Education or Gemini Education Premium add-ons, and Google One AI Premium subscribers.
These nudges aim to streamline your workflow by integrating AI capabilities directly into your file management system, making tasks like summarizing documents and extracting key information more efficient.
