How to Install Sound Recorder (Preview) on Windows 11 PC | No Commands, No PowerShell

Microsoft introduced the new Sound Recorder for Windows 11 with Windows Insiders in the Dev Channel.
The new Sound Recorder (Preview) app contains beautiful new visualization for audio during recording and playback to complement the new look and feel of the app. Microsoft also added support for changing your recording device and file format from within the app, which were among the top requested features in Feedback Hub.
The update to the new Sound Recorder will replace the Voice Recorder app.
But, we can install the new Sound Recorder (Preview) app in Windows 11 by manually updating using the appxbundle file.
So, In this blog, I am going to show you, how to install the new Sound Recorder (Preview) app in stable build of Windows 11.
Let's begin...

Download Sound Recorder (Preview) appxbundle file (installer file)

  1. First, open this store.rg-adguard.net on any internet browser.
  2. Then, click on the drop-down menu to the left of the textbox and choose PackageFamilyName.
  3. Next, paste Microsoft.WindowsSoundRecorder_8wekyb3d8bbwe into the text field.
  4. And make sure Fast is selected in the drop-down menu to the right of the textbox.
  5. Finally, click the Done (checkmark icon) button.
  6. Here, we need to download appxbundle (installer file) for Sound Recorder (Preview) app. To find this file, press CTRL + F and type .appxbundle.
  7. And then click on the latest version file to download it.

Update Voice Recorder to Sound Recorder (Preview) using appxbundle file

  1. Once the download is completed, open the Downloads folder (or the folder where you downloaded the appxbundle file)
  2. Make sure that your computer is connected to a stable internet connection, and then open the appxbundle file
    (Microsoft.WindowsSoundRecorder_***_neutral___8wekyb3d8bbwe.appxbundle).
  3. On the App Installer window, click on the Update or Install button. After this App installer automatically downloads and installs all required software and then installs the new Sound Recorder (Preview).
  4. The new Sound Recorder (Preview) app will automatically open up after updating.
