In the 102 version of Firefox, Mozilla added Sponsored shortcuts on the Android homepage.
Sponsored shortcuts are a feature available in English and in a few other languages (currently German, French, and Spanish). Mozilla works with advertising partners to place sponsored shortcuts on the default Firefox home page and New Tab page that would be useful to Firefox users. Mozilla is paid when users click on sponsored shortcuts.
But many users do not like Sponsored things.
So, in this blog post, I will show you, how to disable or turn off Sponsored shortcuts in the Android Firefox app.
How to disable the Sponsored shortcuts
To disable Sponsored shortcuts:
- On the Firefox app, at the bottom-right, tap the menu ⋮ button.
- From the menu, select Settings.
- In Settings, tap Homepage.
- In the Homepage setting, under Shorcuts, uncheck the Sponsored shortcuts.
After this, the sponsored shortcuts will be disabled.
And that's how you can disable Sponsored shortcuts on the Android Firefox app.
