How to turn on System Data Saver on Android Phone
Data Saver mode lets most apps and services get background data only via Wi-Fi. Currently, active apps and services can use mobile data.
The method to turn on Data Saver may vary by device or brand.
How to turn on Data Saver on Pixel Phone
- From the bottom of your screen, swipe up.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Network & internet.
- Tap Data Saver.
- Turn on Use Data Saver.
- Some apps and services won’t work as expected unless you let them run in the background even when you’re not using them.To let apps run in the background using mobile data, tap Unrestricted data.Tip: When Data Saver is on, you see the Data Saver icon in your status bar.
- Turn on the app or service you'd like to use mobile data while Data Saver is on.

How to turn on Data Saver on Samsung Phone
- From the top of your screen, swipe down and tap on the Settings icon.
- Tap Connections.
- Tap Data Usage.
- Tap Data saver.
- Turn on the toggle next to Off.
- Some apps and services won’t work as expected unless you let them run in the background even when you’re not using them. And you may not able to use Mobile Hotspot.To let apps run in the background using mobile data, tap Allow app while Data saver on.Tip: When Data Saver is on, you see the Data Saver icon in your status bar.
- Turn on the app or service you'd like to use mobile data while Data Saver is on.

How to Restrict Background data usages on Xiaomi (Mi/Redmi/Poco) Phone
- On Mi/Redmi Phone. open Security app.
- Scroll down and tap on "Data Usage".
- Tap "Restrict data usage".
- Tap menu (3 horizontal dots at top-right) > "Background connection".
- Here turn OFF toggles next to the app of which you want to restrict background data.
