You can now open shared Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files on iPhone and iPad devices without a Microsoft account
Anonymous File Sharing Extended to iOS: Microsoft 365 has expanded anonymous file-sharing capabilities to iPhone and iPad devices. Users can now open shared Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files without needing a Microsoft account.
Viewing and Editing Restrictions: Recipients can view shared files without signing in. However, they must sign in with a Microsoft account to make edits or leave comments.
How to Share:
- Open the file (Word, Excel, or PowerPoint) to share.
- Choose Share > Link settings and select either Anyone with the link can edit or Anyone with the link can view, then apply.
- Share the link via email or other messaging apps like Outlook or Teams.
Requirements and Availability:
This feature is available on Word, Excel, and PowerPoint mobile apps for iPhone and iPad running Version 2.94 (Build 25020422) or later.
Note: In China, usage is subject to the Personal Information Protection Law.
