Windows 10 March 2025 Update New Features: Daylight saving time, Input Method Editor and more

Microsoft released the March 2025 Update for various versions of Windows 10. Here are the new & improved features:

Windows 10 version 22H2 & 22H1 build 19045.5608 & 19045.5608 [KB5053606]

Highlights
  • ​​​​​​​[Daylight saving time (DST)] This update supports DST changes in Paraguay.
  • [Narrator]
    Fixed: It fails to say the Chinese IME candidate window quick action buttons right.
    Fixed: It does not say the control type for the Chinese IME suggestion opt-in item.
    Fixed: It does not say the heading of the Chinese IME suggestion opt-in panel.
Improvements
  • [Input Method Editor (IME)]
    Fixed: The Chinese IME stops responding when you change the font family or font size.
    Fixed: The colour contrast ratio of the Chinese IME search suggestion panel is less than you expect. ​​​​​​​
  • [Desktop Window Manager (dwm.exe}] Fixed: Dwm.exe stops responding many times.
  • [Country and Operator Settings Asset] This update brings COSA profiles up to date for certain mobile operators.
  • [Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) (known issue)] Fixed: The service fails to start, which stops SSH connections. There is no detailed logging, and you must run the sshd.exe process manually.

  • [Daylight saving time (DST)] Updated: DST changes for Paraguay. 
  • [GB18030-2022] This update adds support for this amendment.
  • [Temporary files] This update enables system processes to store temporary files in a secure directory "C:\Windows\SystemTemp" via either calling GetTempPath2 API or using .NET's GetTempPath API, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
  • [Open Secure Shell (OpenSSH) (known issue)] Fixed: The service fails to start, which stops SSH connections. There is no detailed logging, and you must run the sshd.exe process manually.

  • [Temporary files] This update enables system processes to store temporary files in a secure directory "C:\Windows\SystemTemp" via either calling GetTempPath2 API or using .NET's GetTempPath API, thereby reducing the risk of unauthorized access.
  • [Use-after-free (UAF) risk] Fixed: A race condition might lead to a UAF risk during process creation.
  • [Daylight saving time (DST)] Updated: DST changes for Paraguay.

  • [Daylight saving time (DST)] Updated: DST changes for Paraguay.
  • [Use-after-free (UAF) risk] Fixed: A race condition might lead to a UAF risk during process creation.

How to get this update

To install this update:
  • Go to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
  • And then click on "Check for updates".
