Microsoft added many new features to Snipping Tool and Notepad for Windows Insiders

Snipping Tool Updates:

  • Version 11.2502.18.0 introduces "Draw & Hold," allowing users to create neat lines and shapes by still holding their cursor or pen after drawing.
  • Enhanced protocol launch for developers, offering improved flexibility, security, and integration with web technologies.

Notepad Updates:

  • Version 11.2501.29.0 adds a Generative AI-powered Summarize feature, enabling users to condense selected text quickly.
  • Introduced Recent Files in the File menu, allowing easy access to recently closed documents.
Both updates are rolling out to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels for Windows 11, with feedback encouraged via the Feedback Hub.
