Google Classroom has recently expanded its mobile app's language support to include six additional languages:
- Afrikaans,
- Assamese,
- French Canadian,
- Icelandic,
- Kazakh, and
- Swahili.
This enhancement aims to make the platform more accessible to a diverse global user base.
The language displayed in the Classroom mobile app aligns with the user's mobile device language settings. To adjust the app's language, users can change their device's language settings on Android or iOS. Detailed instructions are available in the respective support articles for Android and iOS devices.
These newly supported languages will also be available on the web version of Google Classroom in the coming weeks. An update will be provided on the [Google Workspace Updates Blog](https://workspaceupdates.googleblog.com/) once this feature becomes generally available.
The rollout for the mobile app's expanded language support began on March 24, 2025, and is expected to take up to 15 days for full visibility across all devices. This update is available for Google Workspace editions including Education Fundamentals, Standard, Plus, the Teaching and Learning add-on, and the Endpoint Education add-on.
