By default, File Explorer opens to Quick access, renamed to File Explorer Home in Windows 11, Version 22H2. Microsoft recommends Home as your landing page in File Explorer, where you can:
- Access your most recent and favourite Office.com files quickly.
- Search and find relevant files from your PC and the cloud much faster than with This PC.
To set File Explorer to open to This PC in Windows 11:
- Open the "File Explorer".
- Click on "See more …" and select Options.
- In the "Folder Options", click on the drop-down menu next to "Open File Explorer to", then select This PC.
- And then click on the OK button to save settings.
To set File Explorer to open to This PC in Windows 10:
- Open the "File Explorer".
- Click on the View tab then on Options.
- In the "Folder Options", click on the drop-down menu next to "Open File Explorer to", then select This PC.
- And then click on the OK button to save settings.
And, now when you open File Explorer, it will open to This PC instead of Quick Access or Home.
