How To Change Power Mode in Windows 11 PC | Optimize Battery (Power) For Best Performance

Windows PC comes with many power modes, that you can use to enhance your PC performance.
By default, Windows uses a Balanced powder mode that optimizes performance with power consumption. However, you can change that to either save energy at the cost of raw performance or get the best performance with increased battery usage.
Choose the power mode that works for you and what you want to do on your Windows 11 PC. This lets you determine what’s important to you—getting the best battery life, best performance, or a balance between the two.

Change Power Mode on Windows 11

To change the power mode:
  • Right-click on Start and select Settings.
  • In Settings, click on System.
  • In System Settings, click on Power.
  • For Power mode, choose the one you want.
Note: You might not be able to change the power mode when a custom power plan is selected. If you can’t set the power mode in Power & battery settings, open Control Panel, select System and Security > Power Options, then choose a Balanced power plan.
