How to back up registry on Windows PC?
To back up registry in Windows 11:
- Select Search on the Taskbar, type Regedit, and select "Registry Editor".
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. - In "Registry Editor", locate and click the registry key or subkey that you want to back up.
To back up the complete Registry, highlight Computer. - Then click on File and select Export.
- In the "Export Registry File" dialogue box, select the location to which you want to save the backup copy, and then type a name for the backup file in the "File name" field.
- And then click on Save to back up the registry.
How to restore registry on Windows PC?
To restore registry in Windows 11:
- Select Search on the Taskbar, type Regedit, and select "Registry Editor".
If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. - Then click on File and select Import.
- In the "Import Registry File" dialogue box, select the location to which you saved the backup copy, and select the backup file.
- And then click on Open to restore the registry.
