How to preview WhatsApp voice messages before sending them on Android

Meta (formally Facebook) announced the ability to preview voice messages before sending them on 14 December 2021.
In this blog post/video, I am going to show you, how to preview WhatsApp voice messages before sending them on Android phones.

To listen to your voice messages before sending them:

  1. Open an individual or group chat in the WhatsApp app.
  2. Tap and hold the microphone icon, then slide up to lock hands-free recording.
  3. Start speaking.
  4. Once finished, tap the Stop icon.
  5. Tap the Play icon to listen to your recording. You can also tap any part of the recording to play it from that timestamp.
  6. Tap the Trash icon can to delete the voice message, or tap Send icon to send it.
And that’s how you can preview WhatsApp voice messages before sending them on Android.
