How to create Windows bootable USB drive on Windows PC | Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7

To perform an installation of Windows, you'll need a USB bootable Pendrive, which you can easily create using a number of tools, including the Microsoft Media Creation tool or third-party tools, such as Rufus.
In this blog post, I will show you, how to create Windows bootable USB drive using Rufus on Windows PC.

How to create Windows bootable USB on Windows PC?

1. Download required files

Download Rufus

First, you need a tool to create a bootable USB. The best tool is Rufus.
To download Rufus:
  1. Open Rufus.ie (official Rufus download page) on any browser.
  2. Under the "Download" section, click the latest release (Rufus X.XX) of the tool to save the file on your device.

Download Windows ISO File (Disc Image)

And then, you have to download the ISO file of the Windows operating system, for which you want to create a bootable USB.
You can download the original ISO File of Windows 11, Windows 10, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 from my google site. Open bit.ly/MSProductDownload and choose your required Windows.

3. Make Windows Bootable Pendrive (Windows Installation Media)

After downloading Rufus and ISO File, the next step is to Open Rufus and start making Bootable Pendrive.
If you are making Bootable Pendrive for your current PC then make a bootable Pendrive according to your currently installed Windows. To find out, open System Information by searching in Start Menu and note the value of BIOS Mode.
  • If it is Legacy, then make Bootable Pendrive with BIOS Mode.
  • If it is UEFI, then make Bootable Pendrive with UEFI Mode.
If you are making Bootable Pendrive for a newer PC (released after 2015), I recommend you make it with UEFI Mode. Because Windows, installed with UEFI Mode boot quickly, provide more security, stability and BIOS Setup with the mouse support.
Note: Windows 10 and Windows 8.1 can be installed with UEFI Mode. To install Windows 7 or older versions, you need to make them with BIOS Mode.
To begin, connect a USB flash drive (Pendrive) of at least 8GB of space, and then use these steps:
